G.A.F. (solo set).
Experimental sounds from the faraway Spanish volcano islands. A mobile space/time section of a whole that changes who cares why or where and which appeared as a flow somewhere in 2001. Gaf’s music has often been defined as kraut, space-rock, psychedelic folk or avant-garde electronics by the Spanish press though the main characteristic of their music could be simply put as expansive music. They’ve been releasing for Barcelona based label Foehn Records since 2010 and as Afgan, the little sister harsh solo noise/ambient project, for The Teescopes’ Antenna Records from UK. In last three years they’ve been touring Spain, Europe, Mexico and Japan and been collaborating occasionally with Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Chicago Uderground, Sao Paolo Underground, Isotope 217 etc), Stephen Lawrie (The Telescopes) and Japanese Damo Suzuki from Can.

A band that came into being in the Canary Islands, Spain in 2002. Entrapped in a landscape marked by the extensive areas of banana plantations, this musical body deeply rooted in the unstable layers of cosmic garbage, explores the defused perimeters of the contemporary underground scene. The uneasy ambience inherent to their compositions take on notoriety when enacted on the stage and assume a new dimension perturbing the spectator’s peace of mind. Their music oscilates between the introspective placidity of the nocturnal terror and roguish de-phasing with subtropical hints. A turbulent journey across the subconciousness characterised by the abruptness and complexity of themes wherein the forceful rhythmic skeleton mutates and disintegrates only to be re-composed again with an awesome ease, whilst combining with organic, expansive and evocative energies. In 2010 they release their third album titled Rumor Vitero under Spanish label Ruin Records. The release amounts to an authentic declaration of intentions while at the same time showing us their most intimate facet where spontaneous expression is coupled with painstaking laboratory work – without allowing any stylistic concessions; with an eye to the best electronics of the 90’s and the other eye turned to hyperspace…
